Gynaecology and fertility
The greatest joy in my career is helping women achieve the family they desire. For this reason, I concentrate on pre-pregnancy and fertility gynaecological issues.
Fertility Specialist
I would love to help you if you are planning a pregnancy or having difficulty conceiving. If required I can provide ovulation induction, intrauterine insemination, donor eggs and IVF, through my work at leading fertility clinic No.1 Fertility.
I’m having trouble getting pregnant – is IVF the answer? It might be, but first we should take a close look at you and your partner’s medical and fertility history and tests. There may be some much simpler, quicker (and cheaper!) options like cycle tracking and timed intercourse.
Lipiodol – Magic Oil! Did you know that the oil used to flush tubes and prove that they are open can actually improve your fertility? Studies report nearly a double the chance of natural conception in some couples who have unexplained delay in conception. If you are struggling to conceive this may be an option.
How to naturally boost your fertility
Turning back time is not an option, but things within your control are. You can certainly take a look at your diet and lifestyle and make changes to help increase your chances of getting pregnant. The following options are natural ways to improve fertility.
- maintaining a healthy body weight
- healthy diet and exercise
- avoid all smoking and illicit drugs, and keep alcohol to minimal levels
- cold packs for 10m a day to the scrotum to improve swimmers
- it is possible that antioxidants such as vitamin D, melatonin, Coenzyme Q10 (amongst many) may help cell health, although as yet it has not been scientifically proven.
Remember to also check that you are up to date with all the usual pre-pregnancy checks.
Egg Freezing
Egg Freezing is a suitable option for many women for a variety of reasons. It may be appealing to women who are not in a position currently to have a baby but would like to explore the possibility of storing eggs for the future before their fertility declines.
Being an egg donor
Many women are unable to have a baby without the help of an egg donor. This is an amazing gift. If you think you would like to help another woman to achieve her dreams of a family we’d love to hear from you at No.1 Fertility, on 1800 861 177
We’ll let you know what’s involved and you’ll have independent counselling sessions to be sure this is the right step for you (of course, at no financial cost to you).
General Gynaecology
I continue to see a limited number of my previous gynaecology patients and my recent obstetric patients who wish to have Implanon, Mirena and sterilization procedures.
