IUI stands for ‘Intrauterine Insemination’.
Intrauterine Insemination’ involves your partner providing a sperm sample which is concentrated in the lab to a tiny specimen of the best swimmers! These sperm are then placed at the top of your uterine cavity via a very fine tube.
With IUI the sperm don’t have to negotiate getting through the cervix (which can be tough for them!), and they get a head start so they are front and centre to meet the egg when you ovulate.
IUI can be a great option for some younger couples who are not conceiving.
